Learning Target: Students will be well informed members of society and will be able to formulate educated opinions on global, national, and local issues. Students will understand the ideas of "POV" and of bias and will be able to use these ideas to evaluate multiple sources. Students will understand what the strengths and weaknesses were of the Spartan educational system.

Circle: Would you rather live the rest of your life never seeing another person or live the rest of your life never having a moment by yourself? Would you rather be famous when you are alive but then forgotten or would you rather be unknown when alive but famous forever once dead?

World Issues Project: You will have fifteen minutes to work on your World Issues Projects.

DBQ: We will be going through the documents 1 by 1.

The Steps:
1- Look at the author information.
2- Discuss the point of view of the author and the potential biases he/she may have.
3- Report out.
4- Read and discuss the content of the document and answer the questions in your groups.
5- Report out what the strengths and weaknesses were of Spartan education based on this document.
6- On a separate piece of paper, use a t-chart to record notes on what the strengths and weaknesses were.
7- Repeat for the next document.

Next Class: We will once again be devoting the full class period to the DBQ. No homework for next class.
