Current World Issues: I will be handing out the rubrics for the current world issues project. Students will need to have finalized their project ideas for Wednesday.
Student Presentations: Students will be presenting their maps with ten places that they think are important. They will be presenting in groups. Students who are audience members will be writing down three places that they did not pick that they think are important places. Here are the expectations for this presentation.
Group State Research Activity: Students will be working together in groups to research a randomly picked state. Students will need to find and label the following: Three Major Cities, Three Major Natural Landmarks, Three Major Tourist Attractions. Students will then be writing individual paragraphs on the following: What is the climate like in this state? What is the terrain like (soil, plants, animals, etc)? What does this state produce/export? How does the climate and terrain of this state impact what it does/is able to produce? Here is the rubric for this assignment.
Absolute/Relative Location Game: Students will be competing against each other to see who can find places faster using absolute/relative location.
Exit Ticket: What is one thing you're enjoying or doing well at in this class so far? What is one thing you are struggling with or concerned about in this class so far?
Homework: There is no official homework for Wednesday. You will be having a quiz over absolute/relative location on Wednesday so you should spend some time studying. Here is a study sheet and an answer sheet to help you study.You should also be looking over the world issues project rubric and come to class with any questions you might have. Students should also have their world issues project ideas finalized for Wednesday.
