Today's Learning Target: Student's will know what the five themes of geography are and why these themes are important.

-Circle: If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

-Discussion in Circle: What is a learning target? What is the learning target for circles? What is the learning target for today's class period?

-Pass out Syllabus

-Individual Activity: Students will be trying to list the names of the seven continents.

-Individual Activity: Students will be labeling the five oceans on a world map.


Seating Chart Activity: Students will be working together in groups to generate lists of the ways that humans impact the environment and vice versa.

Seating Chart Activity: Students will be working together in groups to describe the Oxford Hills region, specifically looking at the physical characteristics as well as the people who live here.

Seating Chart Activity: Students will be working together to come up with as many different regions as they can think of that exist in the United States.

Homework: For Friday, find one current event that happened this week. Then, write 3-5 sentences summarizing the article and 3-5 sentences on why you think this event is important to your life.
