Thursday October 25, 2018

Greek City-States: We will start off by figuring out what a city-state is. From there, we will be doing a team building exercise that illustrates the trading the Ancient Greeks did.

Your goal is to use the materials at your disposal to build the tallest standing tower your group can. At the same time, you must also build the strongest bridge between two desks that you can. The winner of each challenge is awarded 3 points, second place 2, and third place 1.

There will be three Greek City-States and three trade partners of those city-states.

The Steps:
1- You must choose your government. Will you be a Monarchy (1 of your group members makes all the decisions), an Oligarchy (2 members of your group make all the decisions), or a Direct Democracy (all your group members have equal voice, majority rules all decisions).

2- Once you choose your government, you are ready to start building.

3- Remember, you only have materials that your environment offers. If you want other supplies you will need to trade with other city-states or over seas trade partners. If trading, the group member who is going to do the trading must wait 1 minute (and can not contribute to the group) for a trade with a fellow city-state. If trading with an overseas trade partner, you must wait two minutes.

You have 25 minutes to complete this task!
